Precious Lord,
Today I thank you for fun, recreation, and celebration. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy Your creation and many, many blessings. Thank you for giving us permission to celebrate (Leviticus 23).
Ecclesiastes 2:24
There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God,
1 Corinthians 10:31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Luke 15:23-24
And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

This is a great reminder that God does not mind us taking a moment to enjoy His creation. So often we get caught up in the work of the Lord and forget that even Jesus took time to get away and relax.
