Coffee With Jesus

 coffee for two

We’ve all heard this question before, but I wonder if we have really given it much thought?

If you could have a cup of coffee with anyone from history, who would that be and what would you want to talk about?

Your answer reveals a lot about what you are interested in, and where you are in your faith journey.

My answer is Jesus. But being in the presence of my King, I’m not sure I could speak at all. Perhaps I would just listen like Mary did when she sat at Jesus’ feet. If I could speak, I would ask Him if I am following Him the way He wants, and if I should be doing anything differently. We all wonder about that from time to time.

Today I am having coffee with Jesus. He may not be visibly sitting across the table from me, but He is here. I can talk to Him any time, not just in prayer.

It seems strange to just talk to Jesus, like I talk to a good friend; after all, I can’t see Him. But when I relax and seek Him, I can tell him what’s on my mind, what’s troubling me, and what my hopes and dreams are. I can ask for His guidance.

This is a wonderful, spiritually refreshing experience. Consider going somewhere to just be alone with Him. Clear your mind and let your spirit be recharged as you have a “conversation” with your best friend.

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25

Blessings on your day.

  1. very good….Lamentations 3:25 is one of my favorite scriptures….just consider how many kings in this world would actually allow us common folk to even speak with them? 🙂

  2. What an awesome post and what a great thought. I have given thought to this before, if not coffee, just being able to sit with Him physically. As you said, we all have thought about that from time to time, but then my mind wanders to when Jesus appeared at the gathering of the disciples after His resurrection and what He commented to Thomas. Blessed is he that he sees Christ, but blessed all the more the ones that don’t see and yet still believe!
It also reminds me of Proverbs 18:24, A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
As you stated, you may not see Him, but He truly is there with you! What an awesome miracle that we sometimes take for granted! It shows us just how powerful and freeing the spiritual world truly is.
Hebrews 13:5, Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
When we “practice” realizing and being consciously aware that He IS that close, we do start to think about our actions and our conversations. Do we truly want Him to be apart of them? Well, according to Scripture, He is already whether we want Him to be or not, at least if we are truly followers of Christ Jesus!
Great, great article, I love it! Sorry it’s been awhile since I have been back, but I try to make the rounds of those that I have linked too and it seems that my appreciation and love for different sites is making my Links page exceedingly long!!
But, with that said, I believe it was the Holy Spirit that chose today for me to come by! It has been greatly edifying and uplifting!!
God bless you as you continue to serve the Lord (coffee or not!) and each of us who come through your site!! I sincerely pray for you and your ministry.

Making the rounds today, and especially to sites I haven’t been able to get for a time, I ran across this thought-provoking post. I loved it and I know if you give some thought to it, you will too have a time of spiritual reflection. If you haven’t visited this site please, as with so many others, you will be blessed by its inspiration and uniqueness. You want encouragement, you will find it here.

  4. I also think we’ll just be speechless. And I also think that all our questions and wonderings will just disappear, because being with the Alpha and the Omega, everything will be clear! I can’t wait!

  5. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been reading several of your posts and enjoying them! This one stuck out to me for it reminded me of a dream I had recently where I was fellowshipping with The Lord at a table. Hmmmm, yes more coffee time with Jesus! Blessings. I look forward to reading more of your posts. Blessings.
