Communication with God

Our ability to communicate, speech, hearing, reading and writing, are gifts we tend to take for granted. They are so much a part of lives that we don’t give them much thought. We overlook our ability to communicate with God as well. Our creator wants a relationship with us, so He made us in such a way that we can communicate with Him. The most common way we think about communication with God is prayer. Prayer is often neglected. We tend to only call on God when we need Him, but the truth is, we could stay in constant communication with our Heavenly Father.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

pray continually

There are many other ways to communicate with God. Music is a wonderful form of communication. Simply enjoying God’s world is a form of communication with Him. Speaking to someone else about our Lord is communication, and so is serving others.  In fact, serving others may be the highest form of communication with God. Consider Christ’s words:

Matthew 25:34-40

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

During this season of Thanksgiving, consider acts of service as a way to communicate your love to God, and tell Him “Thank You” for all you have been given.

Blessings on your day.

We often tend to call if we have something to ask or complaint. Thank you for your great post, sis. Love and blessing to you.
