What have you checked off your bucket list? College? Travel? Children? Buy a house?
I’ve been making my bucket list as I go. I was fortunate enough to live in Japan while I was in the Navy, and my reserve duty took me to many other foreign duty stations, so I was able to cross a lot of travel destinations off my bucket list while I was still in my twenties.
Then my list changed. I wanted a home and family. God blessed me with a godly husband and two fine children. He also blessed me with a wonderful career. There go the thirties and forties.
But now, I’m about to cross off something that has only been on my bucket list for a few years, writing and publishing a book. I just sent corrections off to the publisher last week, and am now fine tuning the cover. We are about 6 weeks from publication. The dream is now happening.
Follow the Light has been a two-year project. I was able to accomplish it because it was also on God’s list for me. God was my constant companion through every single word.
What’s on your bucket list? Consider working toward that goal. With God as your coach, you can do it. You are still the person God created you to be. Even if you are fifty.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Blessings on your day.
