Puzzle Pieces

When I was a little girl, a favorite winter activity for our family was to put together a big puzzle. At first it was a mess on the table, pieces were upside down and none of them were put together. But underneath, there was a beautiful picture waiting to emerge. My sisters and I could not complete the puzzle ourselves. We needed some help and guidance from our Dad. First we worked on the border, a framework for the puzzle. Then each of us worked on a section. Slowly, the puzzle began to take shape and you could recognize parts of the picture.  After several days, we were finally done. You could see the entire picture.

I think that is how it is with our lives sometimes. There are times we think our life is broken, and the pieces are scattered about. We think our world is falling apart, but God takes those pieces and puts them together to create a masterpiece. But it does not happen overnight. He is working on the masterpiece every day.

Psalm 51:17

My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart

you, God, will not despise.

Are you looking to make repairs in your life? Or maybe you want to start something new in your life. God helps us with both: putting new pieces in place and putting pieces back together.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

As the pieces of your life are put together, don’t look back. Just look forward to the completed picture!

Isaiah 43:18

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

  1. Very beautiful thought and it all was true. Remembering the past is only makes us stuck can’t reach things that should to be. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thought, sis. Have a great morning.

  2. Puzzles! Our basement walls are filled with puzzles Larry & I did and then he made the frames and hung them. I love your analogy, He does pick up the pieces of our broken lives and makes a beautiful picture out of our mess! Great post! Thank you!! 🙂
