My Parent’s Anniversary

Today is my parent’s 54th wedding anniversary. That’s a big deal.

How have they done it? I believe God is at the center of their home. They have had their ups and downs like every couple, but they have loved each other and trusted God in the tough times. There are a lot of little things they do for each other too.

They raised three daughters in the church, and prayed for us every day. They showed us, by example, how to love your spouse. They serve others but they also nurture their relationship by giving each other their time.

I can’t say life has always been easy for them. But now, they are able to enjoy retirement and six grandchildren; all blessings from God.

I won’t get to see them until Christmas. Perhaps then they can give my husband and I some marital wisdom. We’ve only been married 18 years.
