Are You Afraid of Heights?

I have acrophobia, the fear of heights. But I wonder if I have that fear spiritually too.

I’ve heard many times that God can use me, He wants to use me. Then I read wonderful devotionals, replete with stories of God working in the lives of saints living today. I think, “I can never do that.” Because I’m afraid or don’t believe in myself I don’t try. But that sort of thinking limits God.

 John 14:12

12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

 Isaiah 40:29-31

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

 1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

It’s a command. God expects to use us. Relax and let God take over. Remember, it is God doing the work. You have nothing to fear. Go reach new heights for God.
