I heard from my publisher yesterday. We’re ready to start formatting Follow the Light. I’m excited to get to this next step in the process, but terrified about making a wrong decision. And there are so many choices to make; paper color, interior design, font choice and line spacing, to name a few.  This is my first publication and the decisions are overwhelming.

Many of life’s choices can seem overwhelming too. That’s why it’s so important to go to the One who knows what’s best for every step of our life.  Two passages come to my mind when it comes to making godly decisions (I know there are more):

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.
Jeremiah 10:23

Before all our decisions, it’s so important to go to God for His perfect guidance. We are to pray for His wisdom and discernment in all our decisions, no matter how small. Then wait for clear guidance from Him, before we act. He’s the God of the universe. He cares about the details. And He cares about us.

Walk in His Light,

  1. Thank you for sharing this.. I definitely agree with your kind statement.. Trust is God is the best way in our life.Trust in God makes us fearless 🙂 Best wishes…!!

      • i can cotton to that. in fact, i can see that if i had looked as deeply into Things Spiritual And Such long ago, a few things would not have happened and i would not have been as motivated to grow. i grew an empathy for downtrodden and great desire to spread humility over hubris. all in good time, we shall see, said the zen master.

  2. Will be praying also Sis as intercession only strengthens YOUR prayers! I don’t just teach Sis, I believe it with my whole being! As a word of encouragement I want to remind you of this Scripture that came to mind for another Sister in the Lord, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:26-28)
God bless you as you enter into this next chapter on your journey to touch hearts and spirits in Christ’s Name!

    • Pastor Ledoux,
Again, you honor me. Thank you for reminding me of such a great passage. It helps to know others are praying for me on this journey. I am completely overwhelmed at this publishing business. But I don’t have to understand it, because God does. HE will be the one to make it a product that will glorify HIM. Blessings to you! – Julie

  3. I used to run my life like the “obedient’ kid that always says “Yes. Of course I know that. Then I’d step off the sidewalk into the street before the pedestrian walk light came on. God is gracious. I might have gone further quicker and with less bumps along the way if I just calmly watch for the change in signal.

Congratulations on being published!!! Very exciting! I pray God grants you favor and receptive hearts wherever your words are sent.

    To God be the glory!

    • What a great analogy – to step off the sidewalk into the street before the pedestrian walk light came on. That’s exactly how impatient I have been. I agree that if I had just waited on God there would have been fewer bumps along the way.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I look forward to reading more of yours.
