It’s Not About Lemonade

I’ve been thinking a lot about the changes in our lives recently. There are the changes that have happened to my family, and the changes that have happened to people in our country. Of course we think about those affected by the Boston bombings and the explosion in West, Texas. But people are affected by incidents and tragedies every day, and their stories don’t make the news.

Where is God in all of this change? Yes, it’s often tragedy and turmoil, but God has a way of working everything to the good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Despite setbacks, life seems to improve. It’s hard going through the rough times, but once we get to the other side, we can look back and see how strong we’ve become, and how blessed we really are.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Those who subscribe to the notion of positive thinking would say something like, “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”  I believe if God allows the lemons, He has something better in mind. I’m waiting for dessert.

  1. This is such a wonderful post..!! We shall always respect whatever comes to us considering it the will of GOD. All experiences are valuable. Good experiences gives us confidence & bad experiences gives us strength, patience, lessons etc. The only thing we shall always remember is what you shared, ” For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” GOD is always kind & if we are true & good, HE will always shower HIS blessings on us 🙂
